We live in a highly anxious world, agree?
With so many things happening in the world lately, it seems like every time you check the internet or watch the news there is something feeding into your fear. Whether it be climate change, the economy, or some crazy conflict breaking out across the world. Or on the flip side – for many people who are beyond busy with kids, work, social life, family, relationships, etc… there just isn’t the time to stop and worry about all that, as your worry thermometer is already at red!
Being such a common theme, so many of us have spent years in therapy and/or have been on a medication to help us regulate our anxiety. And yet, with the constant stressors of daily life, anxiety just doesn’t seem to get away. Suddenly we look at our current situation and realize that our bubble of comfort has become so small that we are no longer able to do the things that we used to love. Some us become increasingly isolated and unable to have the friends and community that we desire.
Maybe through therapy you’ve discovered the source of your anxiety and are at a stage where you know you need to make a change. You know the change you need to make – but, yeah no. This used to be me, up until my late 20s I struggled significantly with anxiety. In therapy I realized I had to make a change to live in the right body, to accept my gender identity, and be able to live openly and proudly. But actually taking action to do it, that was anxiety provoking to say the least. I 100% believe this journey would have been a lot easier if I would have had a coach there to help me through it!
