Jodi Jackson, a graduate of Jay Shetty Certification School, gives advice in choosing a coaching school that is best for you!
Going to the Jay Shetty Certification School was pivotal in my life because I didn’t know who I was before. Now that I have a handle on that, I can genuinely help someone else by being supportive and unbiased. I want to share the wealth with you and give you some insight into what makes a coaching school worth your while and what Jay Shetty Certification School is like.
You want to make sure the coaching school you pick checks all your boxes, and there are so many out there to choose from.
Your time and money should be spent on a school that best fits you and your lifestyle. First and foremost, I recommend an accredited certification school to meet the correct standards.
Next, research online for testimonials.
Reviews are invaluable as they let you know what people like and dislike about a school. Feel free to call or email schools. A good one should be happy to answer any questions or concerns you have.
Student support is a must.
Will there be someone to help you with your schooling journey? Whether it be motivation, understanding the coursework, or time management, the school you choose should have lots of support for you. Also, make sure plenty of coaching practice is provided (as much as you want) before graduating. There should be many opportunities to try out what you’ve been taught before your schooling ends.
Finally, you want a school that continues to guide you after graduating.
They should help you with how to promote yourself, how to get clients, and how to grow your business. This was one of my favorite parts about going to Jay Shetty Certification School. The community and support at Jay Shetty Certification School are incredible, as many students are willing to show you the way. My supervisor, Viraj, made me feel comfortable as I learned how to navigate. It’s also easy to get in touch with your supervisor, peers, and support systems. The support is unparalleled. Everyone is there for each other, both staff and students. If you want an accountability partner or practice coaching, your peers are there. If you’re having a hard time with the curriculum, your peers, supervisor, and staff are there. As I said above, at Jay Shetty Certification School, you are not on your own after you graduate because they have an incredible alumni community. You can attend group sessions and hear about others’ coaching experiences. Mira, the alumni supervisor, is really helpful with mental blocks and explaining the best coaching practices. Moreover, many of the students have already started their coaching business for you to learn from. Hearing their stories made me feel like I had a head start. You will learn that all the best coaches have coaches themselves, so if you want to find a coach for yourself, I recommend thinking about why you want to work with one and what you want to gain from the experience. This is a question I use for my clients, too. There are many types of coaching niches out there, and this will help narrow down what you need. For example, if you want to find a new job, you can hire a career coach. If you have a hard time relating to others or want to find a partner, you can seek the help of a relationship coach. Now that you know the type of coach to look for, you have some choices regarding where you want to find them. Do you want to see a coach online or in person?Coaches usually provide a complimentary “discovery call” so you can get to know each other and see if they are the right fit for you. Have questions ready to ask them, like, “What is your coaching style? Where did you get your certification from? Do you have testimonials?” No matter who you choose, you will be getting personal, so you want to be comfortable with them.At first, I went to Jay Shetty Certification School to learn more about myself, who I am, and what I wanted. But that journey shifted me in a way I didn’t expect. While learning the curriculum, I experienced what it was like to be the best version of myself. I wanted to share my new wealth and help others, so I began my practice as a student, and it felt amazing! It became clear that I was to be there for others and guide them in navigating their own lives. The rewards I’ve had from being a life coach are revitalizing. Jay Shetty Certification School has given me more confidence, and I’m living my truth. I feel an assurance that I have never felt before, and it keeps growing. I use that to guide my clients. The biggest reward is watching them transform into who they want to be and reach their goals. There are no words to describe the feeling of knowing I had a hand in that. I remember watching Oprah years ago talk about how it's possible to love your job so much that it doesn’t feel like a job. I never thought I would find that, but here it is, my dream job, thanks to the education and support I found at Jay Shetty Certification School.
